The Home of ham Books on Restricted Space Antennas

I maintain this web site to achieve a number of goals. First, it is to promote my books on restricted space antennas.  My books focus on the challenges hams face in pursuing their recreational activtiy as it relates to antennas and the lack of space to erect these antennas. Second, I maintain this site to inform and educate parties on the issues and topics of relevance to the ham (or amateur) radio operator.  I write and publish articles, whitepapers, books and periodicals of relevance to this group and others who might be interested in discovering more about amateur radio.

Why amateur radio you might ask?

Many might wonder why on earth would one pursue amateur radio as a recreational activity. Some might think there are other more exciting hobbies than ham radio. I think not!  Ham radio is about as axciting as a hobby can be. It includes the chance for travel, the chance to communicate with folk in all countries of the world, and at the same time, a chance to contribute in no small way to helping your community in times of need.

Radio has played an important role in the community over the years. It was a ham operator (Marconi) who first discovered radio via his early experiments. Amateur radio has continued that tradition of self experimentation with radio and related technologies.  It was a ham operator who designed and built the first radio telescope. But perhaps more important, is the fact that ham radio is a means of people communicating with people in far away lands.  There  are so few human activities today, which seek communication for its own sake, for its own reward. Perhaps if more folk spent more time communicating like hams do, the world would be a much better place.    Hams put the fun back in human to human communication.  more...

  • a great national asset

Books

Clearly, the main purpose of this this site is promoting the books of ham author VK4KVK. VK4KVK writes extensively about antennas and in particular - restricted space antennas. He published three books in 2005.  more...
